What are the signs of an impending cheeky little toddler?

If you’re new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting! Is it that, while drinking from his bottle, while staring up at you, he widens his lips, shows you his 5-teeth, whilst still gritting the teat between his teeth?
Is it that, afterwards, while suppressing your urge to laugh at [...]

This blog received another award!

You know how peer reviews are among the most respected write-ups in terms of integrity, authenticity, and recognition, in respective industries and fields of studies?
Well, for me, I think endorsements from fellow bloggers and readers are just as significant.
Fellow blogger, parent, and offline friend Moomykin has given Daddeeyah! an award!
Thanks, Moomykin, for this award! This [...]

Mini Milestone :: Chopsticks and trackpad

I wouldn’t call it expert handling, but Caitlin’s been managing to get most of her food into her mouth with chopsticks these days.
She can’t open-close the sticks yet, but she makes enough of a fork-like position with them that she is able to get ‘em into her mouth. She is able to make the occasional [...]

Daddeeyah! is OVER a year old!

September actually marked this blog’s 13th (or so!) month - yes I even forgot my own project’s “birthday”! Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten any real human’s birthday; until and unless someone proves me wrong!
It’s been an enriching experience.

I have changed themes three times, trying to stick to using that smiley-faced candle / banner;

I have [...]

In a rut…

This week, actually for the past 3 weeks, Hot Mummee took it upon herself to craft her company’s business plan.
Apparently the company has never had one. In hearing her describe the sections that are to go in, it sounded more like an extended version of a company profile than a business plan; a 12 [...]

Cried till expiration, didn’t breathe, turned blue, passed out!

Parenting rules :: Part 1

I couldn’t think of a better description the right description / title for this topic. I will let the event explain where I am coming from.
… I mean, after all, Caitlin’s had the whole week off school because of Hari Raya, and it was already the Saturday night before school reopens. We (I take [...]

I’m a big girl now

Daddee got Domino’s Pizza delivered for lunch today (this was Sunday). With it was also an order of spaghetti.
Caitlin got her share of the spaghetti and got stuck into it. From what I can see she was quite happily digging into it from the start, eyes glued to the tv (we have failed in [...]

“… as my (a) family…”

I had actually wanted to put this in the Random Quotes section of this blog (there, on the right), but thought it to be too significant.
I don’t know if she learnt it from school, or from Sesame Street’s podcast’s - this particular episode, but somewhere along the line Caitlin’s grasped the concept of family.
It’s a [...]

Who’re you gonna call, first?

“Daddee…. DADDee…. DADDEE….”
No, no; “Mummee…. MUMMee…. MUMMEE…..”
No, no; “Jie jie…. JIE JIE!”
(Yes, even Caitlin now understands the prestige that comes with this!)

I fear a tease coming on, though…

Well, it’s been two nights in a row now that Caleb’s slept through the whole night without waking. Well, almost.
He knocked off around 9:30pm or 10pm, and didn’t wake till about 5:30am-ish.
But that’s good enough for this Daddee and Mummee.
He also feeds less crankily since he’s also had a good rest; but just enough that [...]

We’ve got a troublemaker in the making

When babies are just being babies, you tend to forgive them when they are flailing their arms and legs around and inadvertently hits or knocks something over. You know they are only learning and practising their motor skills, and most times over-exert these motors.
Examples of accidents and over-exertions include smacking the carrier’s face, head-butting the [...]

5 big if’s of life

Got me tagged for another, err, tag; by Moomykin
Rules:
1. Link to the person who tagged you.
2. List 5 things that could make your life very different should it come true.
3. Tag 5 other people.

1. If I didn’t play dead, I would have drowned that day at the rapids, at Kuala Kubu Baru.
See, since I was [...]

Mini milestone in the pool…

Today I took Caitlin for a swim. Long story short, it had involved going out of my way just to keep my promise to her that I would bring her for a swim, particularly this morning.
Anyway. A short proud note to my friends here, that she achieved two small feats in the pool:

She held her [...]

“The thread that strings the chapters of my life..”

The place where I work has recently just launched a blogsite. To out knowledge, there’s only one other company in our industry that has a blogsite. So, we are kinda proud!
And naturally, I am one of the blog contributors ;D
I wrote this one recently, and thought to share it here too. It may not have [...]

Adding some colour to the blog..

Caitlin, when she was about 2 years 3 months old, showing how she can rotate her dummy hands-free!
These are screen-grabs of a video clip I took of her just before bed one night.

This was probably only a few weeks before we started weaning her off the dummy. I think it took about under a week [...]

Mini milestone for Caleb

So I had mentioned before that I was a little concerned about Caleb sleeping on his tummy when he was only at such a young age. Of course then the assurance that it was all ok by other mothers was, well, reassuring.
So he’s been sleeping on his front this whole time.
With his little stunt [...]
