Attack of the noodles!

If you’re new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!Grandma was feeding Caitlin noodles. Grandma didn’t realise how hot the noodles was. Gave it to Caitlin, Caitlin immediately spat out, landing on her chest, and started crying.
Grandma immediately brushed it off Caitlin’s chest, comforted her, and was feeling [...]

The story of a recluse coming out of his shell..

Just came back from another extended-family dinner at Dr Pixie’s; sans the smiley face candles this time. It was really just a catch-up dinner with my parents, siblings, and the 3rd generation.
One of the stories shared was how one of my nephews had really come out of his shell as he reached puberty and into [...]

The dread begins…

As prompted by Hissychick’s recent comment, Caitlin’s preschooling does include homework.

Lots of colouring
Math: Colouring the corresponding number of objects and repeated writing of numbers 1-8 at this point. It’s amazing that while Caitlin handled writing number 8 quite well, her number 2 is still problematic.
English: Colouring the corresponding object which first letter is the repeated [...]

The reason why they have puppy eyes…

Caitlin likes to watch The Little Einsteins.
In it are 4 character kids who fly (Red) Rocket that seems to have a personality of its own. Together they go on their respective episodic adventures. The whole show is based on music, using snippets of classical music such as from Mozart, Bach, etc. They use big words [...]

Tardiness vs Practical: What example are we setting for the kids?

Here’s what’s in my car:

Caitlin’s shoes and slippers

My work shoes, by the driver’s feet, almost tucked under the seat

Work socks- don’t ask

The front passenger seat’s headrest, detached, sitting on the front seat itself

A tie on the front seat, within reach when I reach the office

A few more ties, in the storage box behind the hand [...]

Daddee, I am sad…

.
In the dark we chatted quietly- Caleb was sleeping soundly only 2+ feet away on our super king size bed.
We talked about her day, in school, what she learned, whether she went during the day, if it was hard, “Did you drink enough water?” and her diet.
Then it was time to sleep ‘cos it [...]

What we can do at 3.5 years and 6 months old!

Checkpoint:
Caitlin says:
I can emulate Daddee and repeat myself LOUDER when he says “Pardon?”, just like he does with Hot Mummee when she says “Hmm?”
I can wear my socks and shoes on my own now, most times getting the left and right right, or right and left right. Haha I made a joke.
I can make pretty [...]

Toddler is passing very hard stools!

Yup. The poor kid has to endure the hardness of her stools that she bursts into tears at the pain of it.
And she pushes hard too. To the extent that today, Grandma told me that there was a spot of blood on her pants.
The poor kid does eat her greens, and a great variety of [...]

My first sports day!

.
Daddee has been psyching me up for about a week before the day. He was saying that even though Saturdays are no-school days, we will still have to go attend it.
Daddee himself didn’t seem sure what to expect of the day. Although he didn’t tell me this, I heard him talking to Mummee about the [...]

School’s out- Part 2

So this Daddee had actually taken a few days off work just to be with Caitlin, on her first school holiday break.

Favourites of the moment

Currently it’s Bee Movie. She won’t have it any other way. Not Playhouse Disney channel (with a myriad of shows like Bananas in Pj’s, Thomas and Friends, Pocoyo), not past faves like Bear in the Big Blue House or Little Einsteins on VCD’s.
Anytime we walk through the door, it’s Bee Movie. Wanna watch what’s [...]

Famous quotes for the moment!

.
Sigh, this Daddee ah, so silly…
It’s okay Daddee, I licked it already!
Daddee? Where is the talker from the radio?
What do you mean?
Where is the talker on the radio; where is he?
……..
While playing with her Lego toys, we were trying to build a tall castle, which obviously kept falling over. Daddee suggested that instead of [...]

Toddler’s grammar, colouring, Daddee wordless again!

.
“I good of colouring already..”

Did you know that “k” is for kettle?
I wonder what “L” will stand for?

Labour day holiday outing…

.
So today, May 1st, is Labour Day. Caitlin felt like “going shopping.” So, we impromptu-ly agreed.
Not that she needed to buy anything; to her shopping is akin to walking around in a shopping centre or a supermarket. Admittedly since starting school she has not had much chance in doing the rounds like she used to [...]

Mind your p’s and q’s, young lady!

This is a semi serious issue. One that needs to be nipped in the bud, but that wasn’t!
