Upskilling the Daddee..

To date, I already do these (not blowing my horn- please just read on):

  • Change his diapers
  • Wipe the poo, wash the bits
  • Wash her up after she does both numbers 1 and 2
  • Dress her, in her uniform or casual clothes after a shower
  • Shower her: shampoo hair and lather body
  • Make milk
  • Brush her teeth
  • Put her to bed: lie with her, chat with her, sneak out when she’s asleep
  • Brush and tie her hair in a simple ponytail
  • Wished I knew how to braid her hair

Huh? What the??

That last point: Knowing how to braid hair- Does it make me less of a man??

  1. You crack me up :)

A has also expressed her extreme disappointment that toddlerdaddy doesn’t know how to do plaits either. I’ve given a demo- hey if i can do it anyone can- but the husband isn’t brave enough. Yet.

  3. :) made me smile! I have to admit Im not one mummy that can braid hair (mind you, I haven’t had to try either). I used to have short hair most of the time LOL and with three boys, nobody to practice on haha

It never makes you less of a “man” as it were. A real man can do many things, especially when it comes to his kids :)

    Practice on her lor :)

  4. Hardly less than a man!
    Plentiful of a DAD!

After all in fairytales, you can’t have a darling of a princess without such a grand KING! :)

    @ hissychick:
Lucky for me, Caitlin does not demand much of me; even if she does it’s usually “DADDEE! COOOOOME! (join me for whatever)” Never, at least to my memory, has she complained that I don’t know this or that…. either she is not as exposed, or that Daddee is still Mr Perfect. Heh.

That pic was taken by my brother, who is still searching for that perfect shot of anything.

    @ Lia:
I know of people (very close to my bloodline in fact) who WOULD think it un-manly to know of such “girly” skills. Thus this post!

    @ Ann:
Haha! That’s quite a funny-good comment! When I read it, (fairy tale) princesses are always so groomed with perfect hair. Never thought that it was due to the King’s hair styling skills!

  6. I see no men have commented here…. That could say something!!

  7. Hey, a skill is a skill.

I bet Gadget-daddy would demand I let him practice on MY hair if we were to have/ expect a baby girl so that he could do it for her when she’s old enough… or her hair’s long enough. :D
