I keep bleeding, keep keep bleeding love

That’s enough for Caitlin to not like the song. I don’t think she is the sort that faints at the sight of blood, but it’s obvious that any idea of bleeding is a no-no.

Grandma dropped her good scissors on her big toe yesterday, enough damage for profuse bleeding. Caitlin cried. Strangely and masochistically I found that endearing…. Gotta get my head checked out, or checked in.

Other un-favourites for now include…

The removal of the “squeekers” from her new shoes; you know the ones that squeek at every step. She is demanding that those little horns be returned and installed in the soles of the new shoes. Hot Mummee cannot stand them squeeky noises, it absolutely drives her mad. It doesn’t matter if only babies wear such shoes, she wants ‘em back in. I found that endearing too.

Caleb can roll over now, from being on his back to his front. What’s the un-favourite? His arm getting stuck underneath him!

His undecided un-favourite now is being grunted at. At 3.5 months or so, he already reacts to such human gestures. With enough being-grunted-at, he’d actually stop what he’s doing (which at this age includes waving of limbs, only) and stare you in the eyes. What is undecided about this is he actually cannot decide which direction to curl his lips. At times he almost looked like he’s about to cry, only to self-counter that instinct with an almost-smile… if one can describe this as a “lip-see-saw”.

(Another) manipulator, in the making- this one.

  1. It’s actually a healthy sign for a child to be afraid and cry when they see a loved one hurt.

Today Micah learnt that not injury requires a band-aid plaster. :)

  2. You don’t need to be checked. I find all those things endearing too!

And I want squeekers on my son’s shoes too….now, only if he can press hard enough for me to hear that sound! hai….

Caleb Caleb….I think I love that name!

  3. Soon to be Caleb’s own un-favourite when he is old enough to understand, is his own uncle’s (my eldest brother) tease of his name.

Gai-lup, as in “chicken balls” (as in fishballs the food)

    Sigh….

  4. Hey, now that I recall, there was a boy in my tuition class named Caleb and that was his nickname too!

Trust the Chinese to manipulate a nice English name. Hahaha…
