Revenge on the bully is sweet!

This gallery contains 1 photos.

. Caleb the Daddee-bully, takes forever drinking his milk. He’d start off all keen; naturally cos he’s hungry, then at about 3oz left (we give him 6oz at the moment), he’d start showing less interest and start being distracted. By … Continue reading

Bullying in preschool!

This had to happen at some point during the parenting journey; at least that’s been my view. I just never thought it was going to be so soon!

I came home from work last night and greeted my inlaws and Caitlin.

Hi Caitlin! How’s school today; any homework?

No… OH Daddee, (something to report) today, in school, a boy hit me….

Mini-milestones, for Daddee!

.
It shouldn’t be, given that Caleb is our second child

But this Daddee seem to only have started knowing how to read the little human’s signs. And for the life of me, I can’t seem to recall those of Caitlin’s when she was his age.

Sleepless and speechless….

. I wanna post something, but I don’t seem to have anything on my mind to share at the moment…. So, here’s an image, or two, to share, instead. Taken only just now. The room was dimly lit, naturally. Set … Continue reading

I wish my work only involved colour pencils…

.
Happy to report that Caitlin’s colouring (ie, her motor skills with the pencil) has been improving steadily. She has been getting at least one star-rating from her homework from her teacher; who, earlier this year, was telling us that her motor skills was lacking.

Incidentally, it is coming to that time of the year again, where the roads will be clearer, parents go on leave from work in droves, shopping centres more crowded than usual, and another parent-teacher meeting scheduled- later this month (of May).

Naturally, I’d be curious to see how our little girl has progressed these last few months. I am the more relaxed parent, especially when it comes to a 3+ year old’s school progress, but Hot Mummee seems to be putting the pressure on the little angel; I don’t quite agree that this is appropriate for this level of education nor at this age… Was that a hint of some domestic issues??

Anyway, did you know that “J” is for jacket?
A yellow, red, blue, purple, with an orange starred jacket, at that ;)

Labour day holiday outing…

.
So today, May 1st, is Labour Day. Caitlin felt like “going shopping.” So, we impromptu-ly agreed.

Not that she needed to buy anything; to her shopping is akin to walking around in a shopping centre or a supermarket. Admittedly since starting school she has not had much chance in doing the rounds like she used to with Grandma and Grandpa, and Hot Mummee and I “treasure” our weekends for not doing much; getting the R&R that is so looked forward to.

As with public holidays in Kuala Lumpur, the roads leading to 1Utama were dotted with red lights- car brake lights. This is a common sight on weekends and public holidays (as are all shopping centres, actually), rows of cars trying to jump queue and squeeze into the parking areas.

Upon seeing this, Grandma suggested we head towards Ikano instead. Unknown to me, there is a playground on the top floor that we could bring Caitlin to. So, we parked, got to the top floor, and Daddee conveniently became the chaperone whilst the ladies went about their shopping.

So I stayed to watch over Caitlin. There were gigantic versions of our air castle, the ones that are even have a slide; as well as playhouses and little rockers. If Daddee wasn’t as heavy I reckon I would be having more fun than Caitlin! Also, impromptu visit means no camera in hand :(

While watching over Caitlin and making sure she remained physically safe from all the climbing and sliding and rolling, there was a boy nearby, probably 5 years old, who managed to climb on top of a solid-plastic playhouse.

He squatted atop the roof of the playhouse, and declared that he is an owl; not really towards anyone in particular. He’s one of those kids who played “aloud”. So proud he was, that he was an owl. I couldn’t help myself and engaged in conversation with him.

So you are an owl?

Yes I AM!

And do you know what owls eat?

Worms! No.. birds eat worms… I could just see this turning over in his head: Owl is bird, bird eats worms, therefore owl eats worm too. Yes! Owl eats worms!

Oh noooo…..

??

Owls eat snakes and rats!

His face was all of surprise, disgust, I-made-a-wrong-choice all rolled into one!

Okay you had to be there!
