It shouldn’t be, given that Caleb is our second child

But this Daddee seem to only have started knowing how to read the little human’s signs. And for the life of me, I can’t seem to recall those of Caitlin’s when she was his age.

What signs?

The usual suspects of Caleb not wishing to continue drinking his milkies are:

  • He’s wet, and needs changing.
I don’t mind so much the changing of diapers, when it is only urine. But when it’s poop, I really really have a problem with it! Not too long ago, Caleb seemed to only poop during his wee-hour feeds. And when it’s Daddee’s turn to feed that night, it usually only means I have to suffer the whole wrath of the stench, alone. Which also means I not only have to smell it alone, I have to touch it alone. Last night was Daddee’s turn, yet thankfully, he didn’t poop- Good. Let someone else enjoy it!

  • He needs to burp, and can the boy let it rip!
It’s actually a very satisfying feeling hearing him burp. Aside from knowing that he is relieved of the pressure in his stomach, it also means that Daddee can go back and continue feeding him to get this over with!

  • He’s sleepy, and he really lets the whole neighbourhood know.
But the good thing about this is that he will usually knock off fairly quickly, leaving Daddee to do whatever he wishes: Fool around with his new toy, watch some paid-TV (trying to get some of my subscription-money’s worth), or, if this milkies session is during the wee hours, go back to sleep.

.
I know I should be glad for the “simplicity” of his needs at the moment (eat, sleep, shit [make Daddee dry-retch], bully Daddee, start over). But I can’t wait for him to at least start “saying” things….!

hahaha….we always long for the period when they are more interactive.

When boyboy was a immobile, everyone also used to say how glad I should be….but…

It is hard to keep the anticipation at bay when we know what great things to expect!

Hmmm true; I can’t decide which is better: Them lying around all the time, or having to chase them around once they start walking / running!
