What I can do at 3+ months

Hey, what’s this thing I can see before me? 4 on this side, 4 on this other side, and a shorter one each on both sides…?

But never mind, they seem to taste good, at least they seem soft and somewhat chewable…

Sometimes I seem to be able to move them. Sometimes. I think the grown-ups call this shadowboxing… Other times I seem to smack them on my face or eyes and it makes me wanna make some annoying-to-adult noises, the type without tears; the type that doesn’t necessarily mean I am hurting. The type that seem to funnily make Daddee slightly frustrated… He’s so funny when he is so frustrated.

But for now, at the times I think I can control them myself, I have decided to wrestle the milk bottle. Heh. Daddee already seems to get quite peeved when I turn my head side to side avoiding that milky-nipple thing, when it is his turn. With this new trick, not only will I turn my head, I will even smack these things-infront-of-me on the bottle. Heh.

Daddee’s so funny. I like giving Daddee shit… with the milk bottle wrestling, as well as literally giving him shit. Already-frustrated Daddee dry retching at the smell of my shit.

I love this life. Heh.

    hahaha…..that frustrating huh!
So much so you have to look at it from a baby’s point of view, else you will go super duper bonkers!

Super Duper Bonkers, I tell you!

It’s been a while (okay “a while” is a long time when dealing with an infant, even if it’s only since a week or so ago) since Caleb’s started exhibiting this “resistance” during his milk feeds. Of course at the start of the feeds, he’d be quite gung-ho and happy to be sucking. About 1/3 of the way into the feeding (we make 6oz per feed, and maybe after 1 burp session) he will start this wrestling session / smacking the bottle / pushing Daddee’s hand (which is holding the bottle).

He’s no longer hungry, thus the urgency is gone. I can fool around now. He starts squirming and making Steve Tyler (Aerosmith) / constipated screams. I change him, which sometimes works due to discomfort; but lately (more like since forever!) that’s only worked for a short while.

Initially Hot Mummee was thinking perhaps Daddee is just impatient (am I sounding defensive?) but last night (Yay Mummee’s turn to feed!) she experienced it.

Our little man now requires entertainment while feeding. Uh oh.

For now the typical rattle-ly toys suffice- he settles and stares wide-eyed at the source of noise, feeding. But he’s only 3 months! I can already see the chain or line of evolution of toys corresponding to his growing years!

This isn’t necessarily a problem; I am just in a complaining mood!

    Moomykin,
Thanks for the compliment of the shot. It wasn’t easy. I am glad digital cameras are “cheap” in that I don’t need to invest in films anymore- I took a whole heap of these and deleted almost all of them! They were all blurred cos of his royal fidget-ness! :) I / we just need to be in brighter surroundings, I reckon.

No, Daddee and Hot Mummee aren’t letting their digits anywhere near my mouth.. But they do use this tiny bristle-ly things to clean my tongue after milkies… I don’t know why they to this all the time, but I think my tongue is starting to be free of all that white-white stuff….

I wonder, if I start sucking my toes too, would I be able to make Daddee frustrated more?

I remember when Max was four months old, I’d have to hide in a room to feed him. And that, even, if it’s a new place, he’ll suck like 3 seconds then turn around and look everywhere. It was so hard because he’d be distracted and then cry for milk, and get distracted and cry. It’s like he wants to be a constant attachment to Mommy’s boop, anytime excess. So exhausting even in the day and you can’t do anything else!! Glad all that’s over.

And so your ordeal too, It shall come to pass.
