It just tears me up inside thinking of the “what’s next for me?” for the child, especially.

TANGKAK: A two-month-old baby girl miraculously escaped death but her parents, grandmother and brother – all Singaporeans – were killed when the seven-seater vehicle they were in smashed into two trees along the North-South Expressway here.
Jolene Bong was flung more than 10m but survived, unscathed.
However, her grandmother Pang Chee Seng, 68, mother Kor Yee Lin, 36, and brother Justin Bong, aged two, died on the spot. Her father Bong Kwang Hong, 37, died at the Tangkak Hospital.
The family was headed north when Bong, who was driving, lost control of the vehicle at the 150th kilometre of the expressway at 8.30am.
The vehicle smashed up two trees beside the expressway, and eyewitnesses said the baby was flung out but was not injured.
The baby and her father, who was seriously injured, were rushed to the Tangkak Hospital, where Bong succumbed to his injuries shortly on arrival.
A team headed by Insp Karmila Mohd Nasir from the Muar traffic police rushed to investigate and sent the dead to the Tangkak Hospital mortuary.
Police found the international passports of the victims, including Jolene’s, but no address was stated in the documents.
Insp Karmila tried to call the victims’ friends from a mobile phone found at the scene but experienced difficulty getting through.
Muar police urged those who witnessed the accident to come forward to help in investigations.

Very sad indeed. But to a certain extent, I actually thought it’s still not as bad as if the child is two or above where they really will pine for the parents and those who had cared for him/her. At this age, adoption by other family members will also be easier for all to adjust. Of course this is like the second best. Nothing can take the place of a parent’s love.

Ya…I am still thinking about that incident till today!
Imagine a 2 mth old only!
The importance therefore of the driver being fully awake and alert if the whole family is in the car!
