So it’s the school holidays this week, and Daddee and Caitlin get to sleep in some (since Daddee is playing chauffeur Mummee gets to snooze on regardless).
The timing couldn’t be better. Given we were all down with the flu last week (and Daddee still has a cough; so does Caitlin actually, but we are on the mend) this somewhat lax daily routine has allowed a little more rest for everyone. Oh, I forgot to also mention, that leaving Caleb with my inlaws have also helped tremendously in allowing us to catch up on some rest. Yes, lucky us.
Caitlin was also given some homework to do over the holidays. I am unsure however if these are just catch-up homework (she started her preschool in March when the term started in Jan) or whether it is holiday work as well. But upon seeing some of the work, Daddee is envious and wishes he could swap with her: One of her books is actually a paste-these-stickers-into-appropriate-empty-settings. Some of her completed work are completing a face- as in paste the eyes, nose, mouth etc, onto a blank face; figures doing stuff, etc.
Other homework have included her completing her first writing exercise of ABC and colouring in the corresponding item: A is for (and colour-in the) apple. Naturally, she’s already completed the stickers first cos, like Daddee would, its just more fun.
All this is well and good. But as with all good things, school holidays end this weekend and Caitlin will be back at school on Monday… sigh
Which also means that, by leading by example, to instil a good sense of punctuality in the now-called preschooler, we have to get up early and on time so that Daddee, for a valid external reason like this, will consequently be at work on time, as the example.
In other words, I am showing her the essence of punctuality by being at work on time, because she has to be at school on time.

You are not the only one that is sad school hols are over ! Imagine the traffic now!!! sigh…
I guess we do really ought to be careful with our actions and words as our kids grow up! We really don’t want to be slapped int he face with the same excuses we have been giving them (or ourselves) when they reach their rebellious years!

Good thing about punctuality.
At the moment Micah is still bliss over time factor. Nothing we need to do that requires us to be there on the dot.
p/s- I like the sticker stuff too, but so far my boys have no interest in any paper work unless it’s painting, or scribbling with colorful markers or punching holes.
