As you know the whole family is down with the flu, and there was no sparing Daddee either.
Daddee had to take Thursday and Friday off work; the sickness was aggravated by a general lack of sleep anyway, due to Caleb’s overnight feeding and Daddee’s inability to manage his time yet (ie, sleep early!)
This will be a short post; suffice to say that we also did have to use a “nose sucker” thingy, like Ann had. Also discovered that Caitlin can be quite cooperative when the paracetamol is strawberry tasting!
I am off to blow my brains out again, through my nose. That is, if I don’t blow out my eardrums before that.

Oh, you poor things! I think it is the lack of sleep that is the MAIN cause of the problem.
So was your little girl off from school too on Thursday and Friday? Thankfully she was alright with the medication this time round!
Hard to have a baby so young being ill too. Hard for the kid, harder for the parents.
Hang in there. Hope the whole family gets well really soon!

Yeah! On Thursday while I was still in the office I got a call from Caitlin’s preschool. Teacher Ng said Caitlin has fever, and is crying; can someone come bring her home please…
So she stayed away from school too, on Friday. Good thing it’s the school holidays now, gives her a chance to recover properly whilst not missing anymore school; seeing as she started 2 months after everyone else.
This makes it the first time for this Daddee to be experiencing this sense of urgency: Child, sick, call from school combo.
Another similar emotion is seeing the little 2mth old wheezing and struggling to breathe through blocked nose, getting frustrated from not being able to sleep when he is already so tired from the illness!
Get well soon.
Rest is the best medicine for flu.
hope in the midst of all the nose blowing and medicine taking there’ll be more cuddles, chit-chatting and story time.
