The setting:
At home, pre-pre-dawn. Only an energy-saver bulb light is on. A sofa faces a tv. Beside the sofa is a small foldable table, on which sit an oversized mug with a small amount of hot water, a hanky, and an Avent milk bottle with 5oz left in it.
The cast:
- Mummee: Been down with a flu since the weekend.
- Caitlin: 3yr old resident cutey. (Still) suffering from a cough, and pukes easily when into a coughing fit
- Caleb: almost-2mth old resident cry-sleep-feed-crap-cry-er
- Daddee: Apparently the only healthy capable adult at this hour.
The scene:
It’s 4am. CNN is on the tv.
In the living room there is a faint scent of puke. The nearby bathroom door is ajar, inside is a pale soaking some linen and pj’s. In the bedroom Caitlin is in her bed sleeping. Her bed has new sheets but missing a bolster.
A few hours ago, Daddee has just cleaned up Caitlin’s pillow, changed her bedsheet, and changed her into fresh pj’s.
Daddee is in a singlet and boxers, squinting at the tv due to sleep-deprived eye-soreness.
Daddee is on the sofa, sitting forward. Caleb is sitting on his right lap, leaning forward on Daddee’s right arm. Daddee is patting Caleb’s upper back with his left hand, just after waking him by tickling his ribs.

Yeah; living on coffee to stay awake, panadol to feed the sleep-deprived headaches…
I actually dozed off at work during the last 2 days! Don’t tell boss!
hahaha….it’s hard to work out a system when you are the only one capable!
Hope both your girls will get well soon. And that you don’t fall ill in the process….
