Caitlin doesn’t know the term yet, but she (along with Daddee) exhibited the clichéd Monday morning blues this morning- dreary eyes, slouched shoulders, I-wished-I-was-still-in-bed; at least for Daddee*, ‘cos Caitlin quite happily got out of bed when I softly woke her with “Hey, wakey wakey, gotta wake up to go to school….”
* Daddee’s been up since 4:30am this morning, again to feed Caleb.
I reckon this scene, while waiting for the apartment lift in our building, would have been a very interesting candid-photo opportunity!
The lift door opened, there was also a father-daughter pair inside. Daughter is a lot older, probably late primary or early secondary.
They got off a floor before ours. After the door closed, Caitlin, pony-tailed, in her pink pinstriped uniform and oversized but empty backpack on, slowly looks up and leans into me, and softly said “She’s wearing uniform too… Hmm hmm hmm” she chuckled, eyes disappearing behind her chubby cheeks squeezed by her press-lipped smile.
I don’t know how she still manages such adorableness given the conditions of the cliché…
… Okay, I guess you had to be there

There are just magical moments of adorableness that our kids conjures in us that is beyond explanation.
Have more magical moments.

Yes, it is still exciting for me- us, I guess.
We were a bit early this (Tuesday) morning; Caleb woke at 5:30am and thus the whole morning routine started earlier for everyone today.
When I dropped Caitlin off this morning there was no minder around. Not that it mattered cos since she is strapped into her seat, I usually get out of the car, unfasten her, and walk her to the school anyways, with or without the minder.
She was in her usual steady prose- that “on a mission” no dilly-dallying going to school.
But she did pause to turn around, arms out, “Hug hug, Daddee.. bye bye”
*sniff sniff…*

[...] I don’t know how long before this will take effect, or whether we are able to be consistent with the timing. Hopefully we are able to, and to gain back our sanity and some youth from going back to normal sleeping routines! As Caitlin also still sleeps in our room, she too suffers from the interruptions if/when Caleb wakes in the wee hours. She has to wake early too now that she is going to school. [...]
