cal_smirk.jpg At just over 2 weeks old, Caleb seemed to have:

* * * * * *

Coughed. As in Cough-cough… cough Can babies of that age already cough?

* * * * * *

Mummee, whilst getting rather frustrated with Caleb waking so often, gambled and placed him on his front to let him sleep; we didn’t do this with Caitlin when she was an infant for fear of the obvious.

When she went to check on him; because he stopped waking hourly, he was sleeping on the right side of his face. She was sure she left him lying on his left side! Did this 2 week old Babee lift his head, turned, and lay back down??

* * * * * *

Whilst carrying him myself, I was moving my head side to side. His eyes seemed to be following me at three places: Right, middle, left, middle, right, etc. Can they already do this at this age?

    It is said, a friend said he read this from a book somewhere, that babies who sleep face down actually develop faster.

    Both our boys slept face down the first few months till they could roll over, then it was “as you like it”. We did it mostly because we found that they sleep better and also so that their won’t have a flat head (vanity vanity).

    We have actually found it to be very safe, as long as you don’t use a pillow, and you’ll be surprised how they already wiggle around to get into a cozy spot/position. That, we realised with Max was to have something pressed his head against. So he’d always wiggle right up to the top end of the cot. :)

    I think if the baby is very developed, he can hold his head pretty steady when he comes out.

    My mum said I was holding my head the 2nd day I was in the world!

    So, maybe Caleb is one of the STRONG ones!

    Actually, during a time I was carrying him, I was holding him upright to see what he’d do; of course I’d still had my upper forearm as “headrest” in case he couldn’t support his own head and plops backwards.

    He was almost holding it up, plopping front and back. I think the fact that he could plop his head I guess means that he is working his muscles already. There were short moments his head was in fact upright, and I am not attributing it to balance too!

    we let our second sleep on her stomach at this same age, and she did the same thing.
